Maisons de France: The Winners!

Today, we are very happy to announce the the 14 winners of the national contest ‘Maisons de France by Airbnb’! Earlier this summer, Airbnb launched a national contest – ‘Maisons de France by Airbnb’ – offering the Airbnb host community in France the chance to submit their homes that they believe best represent their region’s identity and history.

Since then, hundreds of hosts have submitted their homes, a panel of tourism and heritage experts have shortlisted their favourites and tens of thousands of you have voted for your ‘Maison de France’. Today, we are delighted to reveal the winners of the contest, who represent the real diversity of our regions:

  • Auvergne-Rhônes-Alpes – Roelof
  • Bourgogne-Franche-Comté – Pauline
  • Bretagne – Christian
  • Centre-Val de Loire – Jeff
  • Corse – Caro

  • Normandie – Martine
  • Nouvelle Aquitaine – Benoit
  • Occitanie – Isa

Each of the 14 ‘Regional Ambassadors’ will receive the accolade ‘Maisons de France by Airbnb’ in the form of a celebratory plaque, and a 500 EUR Airbnb travel coupon. Airbnb host Christian, ‘Regional Ambassador’ of the Bretagne region, said: “I would like to thank Airbnb for the great initiative, which enhances the rich heritage of our regions!” “Today, more than 80 percent of accommodations available on Airbnb in France are located outside Paris. Our ambition is to equally disperse the benefits of tourisms to all French citizens, in all regions. These 14 homes are a good representation of the diversity of our heritage and of the French hospitality. They will be able to inspire travelers from abroad and encourage them to discover all the aspects of our beautiful country” says Emmanuel Marill, Director France Airbnb.
