France hosts stand up for home sharing

The French Parliament will vote on the Digital Bill on June 29th. The home sharing community in France is standing up and making their voice heard. On Wednesday, over 130 Airbnb hosts from the Paris area gathered together at Cinéma du Panthéon,  a block away from the Senate, to meet one another and show their support to home sharing.

Just hours after the host gathering, Airbnb staff met with the French Minister in charge of Housing. The meeting was a great opportunity to discuss home sharing and to demonstrate the mobilisation of the community. Airbnb staff delivered a French petition in support of home sharing that was signed by over 37,000 people. This was the second opportunity we have had to deliver the French home sharing petition to a cabinet official in France. Last week, Airbnb officials remitted the petition to Jean-Vincent Placé, Minister of State for State Reform and Simplification.
